Residents of the 'Besëlidhja' neighborhood in Hot i Ri in Shkodra have gone out to protest the lack of drinking water, the depreciation of the road, and the problems with electricity in the area where they reside and live.
During the protest, they point out that the depreciated road has not been invested in for 30 years. That's why they have set conditions.
For them, if the road is not reconstructed by May 11, then they will boycott the parliamentary elections to be held on May 11.
Pjetër Golfiku: This area is unsupported, with neither asphalt nor water supply. The lights are on the ground and there is a risk that a child will be left behind in the correctional facility. How can a child go to school? We have asked and cried like a child, like a child cries for food. But we have not had a "parent" to say 'who is crying?'. We have addressed the Municipality and the mayor at all times. No one goes to the voting center without a document that the road is starting. We have 200 votes. We have nothing to do with the system, but the conditions that our area needs. The asphalt is up to that point and they have blocked it. Why? We pay taxes, but the state must also invest.
Another resident: We have 3 problems. The first is drinking water. An investment was made in 2008. So far there is not a single drop of water. The villagers have dug wells. The second is electricity. Up to the intersection of the road, it has been worked well, but until the end of the road it is scandalous. We have bought private poles and there are 1000 wires because they are a danger to school children. We all pay for electricity. The main road remains. It is scandalous. We are asking for asphalt. These residents and I are not for provisional commitments, we will take measures at the voting centers. If there is no solution, we will not go to the ballot boxes.
According to them, the road is crossed by 1,000 residents every day, which is why they are protesting for better conditions.
