Neither Inter nor Arsenal, Cristian Romero will play in Spain, Atletico Madrid finds agreement with Tottenham

Cristian Romero is leaving Tottenham to continue his career in the Spanish league. The Argentine defender will be a player of Atletico Madrid, with whom he himself had reached an agreement.
Now Los Colchoneros have also reached an agreement with Tottenham for a fee of £34m plus bonuses. The deal also includes a buy-back clause for Romero, which means Tottenham will have the right to 15% of the proceeds from any sale of the Argentine to Atletico Madrid.
The Madrid team has long been tracking the Argentina international defender and Tottenham were expected to allow their captain to leave if they received the right offer. For his part, the centre-back himself preferred a move to the Spanish capital, although he was also targeted by Inter and Arsenal.
Cristian Romero, who had a contract with Tottenham until 2029, has played 124 games with the Hotspurs, scoring 12 goals, while also receiving 4 red cards.
