Lavrov: It is not easy to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine! The agreement with the US…

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said it would not be easy to reach an agreement with the United States on the main points of a possible peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine, adding that Russia would not allow itself to become economically dependent on the West again.
US President Donald Trump, who has since said he wants to be remembered as a peacemaker, has reiterated that he will stop the "bloodshed" caused by the three-year war in Ukraine, but a deal has yet to be reached, Reuters reports.
"It is not easy to agree on the key elements of the agreement. They are being discussed," Lavrov said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, when asked whether agreement had been reached between Moscow and Washington on some aspects of the peace agreement.
"We are aware of what a beneficial agreement for the parties looks like, which we have never rejected, and what an agreement that could lead us into a trap looks like," he added.
The official Kremlin announced on Sunday that it is still too early to expect results from the normalization of relations with Washington.
Lavrov added that Russia's position was made clear by President Vladimir Putin in June last year, when he asked Ukraine to abandon its ambitions to join NATO and withdraw military troops from the territories of the four occupied regions.
