Violence against the head of the Crimes Unit in Saranda, the prosecution

The prosecution has requested "prison arrest" in absentia for the owner of the "Orange" bar, Spiro Iljadhi, and manager Ermal Vata, in connection with the incident where the head of the Crimes Department of the Saranda Police Station, Mateo Bakalli, was raped.

For the two suspects, who are accused of the criminal offense of "Actions that impede the discovery of the truth", the court has not accepted the prosecution's request.

The court has imposed the measure "Compulsory appearance" on Spiro Iljadhi and Ermal Vata, leaving them free during the investigation.

The incident occurred on August 16 at the Orange bar in Saranda, where the head of the Crimes Unit, Mateo Bakalli, intervened to stop a physical conflict. According to the Prosecution, despite presenting himself as a police officer, he was hit by the people involved in the clash.

For this event, the court has previously ordered "prison arrest" for six people, accused of "assault in the course of duty", while another person has been declared wanted.
