Allison Guerriero, the ex-girlfriend of Charles McGonigal, the former director of the FBI's New York counterintelligence office, who had denounced his activities to American authorities, has been found dead.
Guerriero had spoken publicly about McGonigal's ties to Prime Minister Edi Rama and the former FBI director's travels to Albania.
The death of Allison Guerriero has brought back into focus one of the most sensational episodes of the McGonigal case, the former FBI counterintelligence officer who was convicted in the US of criminal offenses related to violating sanctions against Russia and concealing payments he had received from a former Albanian intelligence employee.
But Guerriero's name is also important for Albania.
