Unexpected move in the transfer market, Chelsea seeks to replace Enzo Fernandez with the midfielder who is shining in Serie A

Chelsea have opened talks over a possible move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, as the London club prepare for the possibility of Enzo Fernandez leaving before the transfer window closes.
According to reports by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea executives have communicated with the French footballer's representatives, but talks are not yet at an advanced stage.
Kone, 25, has become one of Roma's most important players after transferring from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2024. The Italian club wants to keep the midfielder and has not yet received an official offer for him.
Chelsea's interest comes amid uncertainty over the future of Enzo Fernandez, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City. The English club are considering alternatives for the midfield, and Kone is one of the names on the list.
The French midfielder had a good season with Roma, where he played 29 games in Serie A and was a starter in most of them. He also has experience with the French national team, with 18 appearances for Les Bleus.
Chelsea are also tracking Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as another option to strengthen their midfield, but talks have reportedly not progressed.
