Former Albanian national football player, Igli Tare, appeared this Monday, August 31, at the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), as part of investigations related to the "Balluku" file.

Tare spent about three hours at the SPAK premises, where he is reported to have given explanations to prosecutors regarding the case under investigation.

At the end of his appearance, the former footballer faced journalists outside the SPAK premises, but chose not to provide details on the content of the testimony.

"I thank the media for the way they broadcast it," Tare said briefly.

Under investigation for money laundering

Igli Tare is under investigation for the criminal offense of money laundering, while his name is included in the investigations of the "Balluku" file.

At the center of SPAK's verifications is a villa in the Dhërmi area, for which prosecutors are investigating the circumstances of ownership, financial transactions and possible connections with other persons included in the investigative file.

Earlier, as part of the same investigations, Igli Tare's brother, Agron Tare, was also summoned by special prosecutors.

Investigations continue as SPAK is verifying the financial and property connections of the individuals involved in the “Balluku” case. Appearance at SPAK and the status of the investigation do not imply guilt, while any criminal liability must be determined through due process.
