'Pisa, tests for science', the book co-authored by professors Et'hem Ruka and Mareglen Spiro, is promoted

A special book, titled “Pisa ” – Tests for Science, published by MediaPrint, was promoted at the National Center for Books and Reading. The book, co-authored by Professors Ethem Ruka, Mareglen Spiro and Elsa Imeri, brings this didactic work related to the tests and their compilation, within the Pisa program, an international assessment program for 15-year-old children in science, mathematics and reading.
Professor Et'hem Ruka underlined the importance of this publication, with produced tests, while so far tests translated from abroad have been used. " So far, it has been worked with declassified tests taken ready-made, not because there are no materials. Such materials have been prepared by Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, but I think that this type of assessment is a philosophy in itself. I did not have much knowledge and I heard but I did not have much knowledge about its content, about the way the control is done and above all about the national position where the education system is in relation to other education systems. I read a lot and created a complete conviction about what the philosophy of this assessment is. This is a very big project that has excited me as an education worker and I tried to give my modest contribution together with my colleagues to draft a publication of this nature with tests produced by us so that tomorrow Albanian teachers themselves should check their knowledge on the philosophy of these assessments" , said Professor Et'hem Ruka.
Academician Mareglen Spiro called the publication a small work in the service of the school, so that our country can be ranked as well as possible internationally. According to him, the collection of three authors is an achievement for the Albanian school environment and the level of the students.
" I have tried to work with dedication, feeling the weight of responsibility, so that we can draw a worthy conclusion about the current situation of teachers, students and schools in Albania and so that this book can contribute to reflecting this truth in the general test that will be European ," said academic Spiro.
The publication includes teaching tests in biology, physics, earth sciences and chemistry. Alda Bardhyli, director of the National Center for Books and Reading, praised the PISA book and said that it will be a great help for students.
" Every time a book is promoted in this space, it is a special pleasure for us, especially for books related to education, as we need such publications that raise the level of Albanian science ," said Director Bardhyli.
The book ' Pisa ' was also praised by professors and representatives of the Ministry of Education who participated in the promotion. The Programme for International Student Assessment is an assessment that is based on skills and not on the curriculum, so the co-authors invite students to measure their skills.
