Elections in Kosovo, five people arrested for threatening voters

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina announced on Tuesday that, in cooperation with the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption of the Kosovo Police, it has undertaken investigative actions following media reports and statements by the acting Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashic, regarding allegations of intimidation of voters in this municipality.
According to the Prosecution, by decision of the State Prosecutor, five citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, of Serbian nationality, have been detained, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "violating the free determination of voters".
The announcement states that sufficient statements and evidence have been obtained that raise suspicions of their involvement in illegal actions related to this criminal offense.
The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina emphasizes that it remains committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process, guaranteeing the free exercise of the right to vote, and respecting the constitutional and legal order in Kosovo.
