BET Awards 2026 nominations revealed, Cardi B tops the list

The 2026 BET Awards have officially released the nominations list, and at the top of it is Cardi B, who has secured a total of six nominations this year.

The American rapper will compete in some of the event's most important categories, including "Best Female Hip Hop Artist", "Album of the Year", "Best Collaboration" and "Viewers' Choice".

She is followed by Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist with five nominations each, while Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Olivia Dean and Latto have each received four nominations.

One of the most commented innovations of this edition is the addition of two new categories: "Fashion Vanguard Award" and "Pulse Award".

The Fashion Vanguard Award will be given to figures who have made a significant impact on the fashion industry and pop culture, using style as a form of expression in music, film, sports and public life. Nominees in this category include A$AP Rocky, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Teyana Taylor and Cardi B.

Meanwhile, the "Pulse Award" will recognize the digital personalities and projects that have had the most impact on online culture and social networks.

In the music categories, Kendrick Lamar faces Cardi B and Mariah the Scientist in the “Best Collaboration” and “Viewers' Choice” categories. In the running for “Album of the Year” are the musical projects of Cardi B, J. Cole, Bruno Mars, Tyler, the Creator, Clipse and Mariah the Scientist.

As for cinema and television, Denzel Washington, Michael B. Jordan and Anthony Mackie are nominated in the "Best Actor" category, while Angela Bassett, Cynthia Erivo and Keke Palmer are competing for "Best Actress".

Sports also has its big names on the list, with Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and Angel Reese nominated for "Sportswoman of the Year", while LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Jalen Hurts are competing in the "Sportsman of the Year" category.

The 2026 BET Awards ceremony will be held on June 28 and will be broadcast live on the BET network and other Paramount platforms.
