Nominated by Trump! Candidate for US ambassador to Albania, former NATO general Eric Wendt reports to the Senate tomorrow

Tomorrow, at 4:00 PM local Albanian time, the candidate for United States Ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt, will appear before the Foreign Relations Committee in the US Senate, as part of the confirmation procedure for the diplomatic post in Tirana.

During the hearing, the priorities of US-Albania relations, cooperation in the field of security, as well as regional developments in the Western Balkans are expected to be discussed.

Eric Wendt is a former three-star general in the US Army and former commander of NATO special forces, with a career spanning over 34 years in the US military. He has held important positions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and is considered a figure with extensive experience in international security and operations issues.

His name was proposed by US President Donald Trump to take over as US ambassador to Albania.
