The situation with the fires in Lura is worsening, the flames are spreading rapidly and homes are at risk

The battle with the flames in the Lura forest massif has been ongoing for three days, while the situation is reported to be deteriorating, especially in the Koçekë neighborhood, where the fire is approaching homes.

Around 200 forces have been deployed on the ground, while the air intervention is continuing with two aircraft. The operation also includes employees of the Protected Areas, the Municipality of Dibër, Civil Emergencies, the Armed Forces, the Police, as well as residents of the area.

The difficult terrain is making it difficult for ground forces to intervene. The situation is also being aggravated by the wind, which is favoring the spread of flames towards residential areas.

Forces on the ground continue to work to isolate the fires and prevent the spread of fire to homes.
