Sad news: University of Elbasan professor Albert Riska passes away

The sad news was announced by the University of Elbasan.

Albert Riska had a long academic career at the University of Elbasan. He began his teaching activity at this institution in 1988 as an external lecturer, and from 1991 he continued as a language lecturer, where he lectured, among other things, on Dialectology and History of the Albanian language. Over the years, he has also held several leadership positions, including that of head of the Department of Language and the Faculty of Humanities.

Prof. Riska has also been involved in research and writing in the field of linguistics. He has published articles and treatises on the Albanian language, dialectology, etymology, and issues of language history.

Among his works is the book "Albania and Christianity", which discusses the connections between the Albanian language, history and the spread of Christianity in the Illyrian regions, also relying on materials collected during linguistic expeditions.

In addition to her academic activity, Riska has been part of the scientific structures of the University of Elbasan, including the editorial board of the university's scientific bulletin.
