Trump administration continues with non grata declarations, Secretary Rubio sanctions South African ambassador

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Friday that South Africa's ambassador to the United States is "no longer welcome" in the country, in the latest move by the Trump administration to target the African country. Rubio, in a post on X, declared Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool "persona non grata."
"The South African ambassador to the United States is no longer welcome in our great country.
Ebrahim Rasool is a politician who hates America and hates @POTUS (President of the US).
"We have nothing to discuss with him and, thus, he is considered persona non grata," Rubio said on "X".
So, despite speculation about a change in policy, the use of sanctions and non grata declarations remains an unchanging norm of American foreign policy. This approach, continued by the Trump administration, defies the expectations of those who hoped that his return to power would lead to the elimination of these measures.
