While Prime Minister Edi Rama's electoral card is EU integration by 2030, DP leader Berisha made a promise that almost borders on the absurd, saying that he will facilitate obtaining visas with the US, even though he himself is 'non grata'.
Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu in the 'Repolitix' studio on Report TV believes that EU integration depends more on the countries of the European Bloc and that promises are part of the electoral campaign.
"If the EU does not prioritize its expansion because of extremist forces coming to dominate EU decision-making, or if some countries veto Europe's expansion, even if we do something amazing, they will not accept us again. However, Rama is within his rights. Someone promises us Europe by 2030, and someone promises that we will go to America without visas. This is electoral propaganda. Whoever eats this electoral propaganda eats it.
Spahiu is convinced that both Rama and Berisha know today who will be declared the winner and how many mandates each will receive in the May 11 elections.
"If we smell the election result, Berisha and Rama are the two characters with the longest political experience because they control more information, they have more structures. They know right now on the table what the approximate result of the elections is. Both have different approaches to how they are handling the electoral campaign ahead of May 12. Neither of them is working for May 11. They both know the election result. The lists of candidates for deputies themselves are a prognosis of what they read in their optics of the result of May 11.
Spahiu draws attention to the giant ballot paper, which he fears will cause many invalid ballots, so he urges the CEC to conduct an awareness campaign for Albanians on how to vote.
"The sheet-like ballot paper rendered 50% of the diaspora's votes in the 2021 Kosovo elections invalid. I have my doubts that with this 60-centimeter sheet, elderly people in some provinces of Albania will have a very difficult time and will waste it," said Spahiu.
