Grida Duma has reacted to news and rumors published in recent days on several portals, according to which she could be appointed Deputy Prime Minister in Edi Rama's government.
Through a statement made public on her Instagram account, Duma has refuted these claims, making it clear that the news that has been circulating about her return to active politics and taking a position in the government is not true.
Duma ironically mocks the rumors of recent days, saying that in the reports about him, they have "set the bargain", "found the sponsor" and even determined the position he would hold.
"For a few days now, my name has been rumored to be part of the Rama government. They have set the agenda for me, they have found my sponsor, they have determined my positioning. I had fun at first, I let it flow. It is an exercise in patience ," says Duma.
She says she decided to react at the moment when, according to her, the "cradle of rumors" began to take on new dimensions.
"I have to react when the rumor mill, in fact, does not give a chance to someone who should keep the system up, which needs to be reformed in its entirety, in my opinion. Sleep peacefully, I have no intention of taking anyone's place, because if I wanted to take anyone's place now, in these political moments, it would be bad for Albania," she declares.
Duma also touched on the possibility of her return to active politics, emphasizing that such a decision would not come as a result of an invitation from someone else, but if Albania needed it.
"No one calls me into politics, I don't wait for invitations from others. If one day I have my own decision to enter politics, I will enter through my own door, I won't knock on anyone's door, I don't wait for invitations. My decision to enter politics will be if I have something to offer Albania."
There are days when they meet in Pogradec, Tirana, ministers, leaders, deputies. I think that all Albanians have their minds on their doorstep, whether white smoke will come out in this reality of governance with black clouds, and they mistakenly believe that this is the Albanian concern. While they worry about their chair position, Albanians have a big concern: whether or not they still have a place in Albania, "says Duma.
According to her, the problems facing our country today can no longer be solved by a single individual, no matter who they are.
"There is a great trust to be bound, in fact, a trust of Albanian humanity to speak about the great issues of development, which are no longer related to one, whoever he may be. The individual, God's miracle be that individual, can no longer make the change in this situation alone. It takes much more than an individual to bring what Albanians expect in these days of rebellion, who do not accept the situation in which Albania is, which is completely out of reach for those Albanians who know what the West is," she declares.
In conclusion, the Duma has a direct message for politics, emphasizing that the debate should not focus on her name or the names that could enter the government.
"What should keep Albanian politicians awake is not a name that comes from abroad. What should keep Albanian politicians awake is the reason why Albanians still ask the question: 'Do they have a place in Albania?', and not my name," concludes Grida Duma.
