Çim Peka lashes out at Sali Berisha: You won your personal battle, but the DP is in danger of survival!

Journalist, moderator and director of the media outlet "Syri", Çim Peka, has published on his social networks a note about the alarming situation of the opposition, the Democratic Party of Albania, and its leadership.
Peka writes that in the context of the Great Citizen Protest, the DP finds itself unprepared and incapable of becoming a winning force against the ruling majority. And for this he holds the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, accountable. He reminds him that by returning to the leadership of the DP, he won the personal battle and the survival of Sali Berisha's existence in politics, but where his personal struggle ends, the problem of the Democratic Party begins.
"It is not enough that Berisha has survived. The opposition must survive and win," writes Peka, who also reminds Berisha of his sacrifices and those of other journalists who did not "sell out" during the battle for his survival, "in a war with the whole world."
However, Çim Peka, although less enthusiastic than before, still seems to have hope that Berisha, after a 5-year battle for "personal survival", can be a factor in the return of the DP as a winning alternative. According to him, this is done by fixing all the rotten teeth in the mouth and not just the first ones as a facade, as Berisha has done with the DP so far and recently with the so-called "Renewal".

Berisha versus Rugova, one or both!
For me, the two most complex, but also most complete political figures of these 3–4 decades in Albanian lands remain Ibrahim Rugova and Sali Berisha. Two personalities completely different in style, temperament and way of exercising leadership, but who achieved something that very few Albanian politicians have achieved: becoming bigger than the parties they led.
Rugova died before his party did. Berisha, paradoxically, risks experiencing the opposite: seeing the party weaken while he is still there.
And this cannot be explained without what has happened to the Albanian opposition in these years. Berisha has faced an extraordinary political and institutional offensive, both at home and abroad. He was declared politically finished, isolated, attacked and tried to be removed from the scene. However, he managed to survive politically, regain control of his party and win the battle for his political existence.
But this is where Sali Berisha's personal battle ends and the Democratic Party's problem begins.
Because today it is not enough for Berisha to have survived. The opposition must survive and win.
For the first time in 35 years of pluralism, we are seeing a phenomenon that must be read very carefully: the square is no longer the exclusive preserve of the official opposition. There are citizens who protest, react and oppose the government, but who do not necessarily identify with the political structure that is supposed to represent this revolt.
This is both the biggest alarm and opportunity for the opposition.
Berisha won his battle against a world that, at one point, seemed all against him. Now he must find a way for the Democrats to win. How? I don't know. And, ultimately, it is not the job of journalists to tell the opposition leader how to build a party and how to gain power. He is the leader.
We, the journalists who were not sold out or blackmailed, have done and continue to do our part. That's all we have in hand.
But one thing can be said for sure: a party aiming for power cannot build its political showcase with apolitical characters, with people without electoral weight or, even worse, with "useful idiots" who can produce noise, but no alternative.
Because noise is not politics. A microphone is not leadership. And civic revolt does not automatically translate into votes.
Herein lies Berisha's real challenge: not to prove once again that he is politically invincible, but to build the mechanism that turns his personal resistance into political victory for the democrats.
You can fix your first teeth perfectly, the ones you see in the picture. But if you leave your second and third teeth untreated, your mouth won't function.
Even a party is like that.
