North Macedonia's Prime Minister receives death threats, 39-year-old Circassian man under investigation

North Macedonia's Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has recently received a death threat, while it is reported that the Kumanovo Basic Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a 39-year-old man from the village of Çerkez.
Through the announcement made public regarding the incident in question, the Prosecution Office informs that the suspect, in messages via social networks, has insulted and threatened the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia.
"Assessing the circumstances of the crime, the risk of escape, and especially the fact that the suspect appears to be the perpetrator of other crimes in the field of violent crime "violence, usury and a large number of offenses for the violation of public order and peace", the public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the preliminary procedure judge for the determination of the measure of detention", the Public Prosecution Office explains.
The Prime Minister reacted to this situation on social media, where he made public the threat to life through a video shared online, while adding that he expects the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures.
"I am an institution after all. If I were not this, I know how these issues are resolved. I assume that the institutions have taken their responsibilities and that the person has been secured through the Ministry of Interior. I hope that the judicial system will implement the same where it belongs," said the prime minister from the Tabanovci border crossing where he was inspecting projects implemented within the framework of the Action Document "EU against Organized Crime, Support for Trade".
