Erion Veliaj fasting in cell, Berisha: May God accept it but...

After his strong speech in Parliament, the Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has given a comment on the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who announced the start of fasting for the month of Ramadan.
Berisha, in his speech to the media outside the Parliament, commented on Veliaj's action as a personal act, but added that "May God accept his fasting, but also let him hand over his thefts, give them to those he took from, to purify his soul."
In his words, Berisha emphasized that in the doctrine of Islam, "even for a moment if you pray to God, he accepts you," suggesting that Veliaj, in addition to fasting, must also atone for his other actions to achieve spiritual purification.
