Shooting in an office in Thailand, former MP shoots a senior official

A gunman has opened fire at a local authority office on the outskirts of the capital Bangkok, and the suspect has been arrested by police.
Authorities say the gunman is a former member of parliament. He is suspected of shooting at a senior provincial official and his driver.
The provincial police commander, Lieutenant General Dezrapi Kongdi, confirmed that two people were injured in the shooting. The injured have been transported to hospital, where they are receiving medical attention.
The incident came just days after another serious shooting at a school in Thailand, where a 14-year-old allegedly killed his grandfather and grandmother before shooting other people at his school.
Nine people were killed and more than 20 others were injured in Friday's attack in Nonthaburi province. After the attack, the teenager allegedly turned the gun on himself.
The incident was described as one of the deadliest mass shootings in Thailand in nearly four years, putting the country's gun control debate back in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, students have returned to schools across Thailand today, with some of them implementing additional security measures, including metal detector checks.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has meanwhile reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening gun control, following the serious attack that occurred on Friday.
