IGEO raises the alarm: High risk of fires in five counties

The Institute of Geosciences (IGJEO) has warned of a high level of risk for forest fires this afternoon and tomorrow in five regions of the country.
According to IGJEO, "HIGH" risk is expected in the regions of Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan and Fier, while in Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Berat, Vlorë, Gjirokastër and Korçë the risk level is predicted to be "MODERATE".
In some regions, high risk is expected only in localized areas, specifically southwest of Shkodra, center of Kukës, southwest of Dibra, northeast of Korça, and northwest of Berat.
The institute emphasizes that the risk is expected to be higher tomorrow.
Regarding meteorological conditions, locally light rainfall is expected this afternoon in the regions of Korça, Vlora and Gjirokastër, while no rainfall is forecast in the rest of the country. No rainfall is expected for Tuesday.
Minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to range from 23 to 35°C in coastal areas, 22 to 39°C in lowlands, and 16 to 34°C in mountainous areas.
The wind is expected to be light to moderate, while on the coast and mountainous areas, it may be strong.
