Emergency on tourist cruise ship, British tourist urgently evacuated to Durres hospital

An emergency operation was conducted at sea by the Durrës Port Authority, following a call for help from a tourist ship passing near Albanian waters.
The Marbella Explorer II cruise ship issued a distress call at 23:50, while it was about 20 miles from Durrës, as there was a sick British citizen on board.
According to information from the captain of the cruise ship, the patient had severe symptoms that required urgent hospital intervention. The cruise ship was sailing from Corfu to Kotor and was immediately instructed by the Durrës Port Authority to approach the Albanian port to pick up the patient.
Meanwhile, the authorities were notified, the ASHD tugboat was dispatched to make it possible to pick him up from the dock, and the ambulance was dispatched to accompany him to the Durrës Regional Hospital.
At 02:30, the English citizen with the initials CP arrived at the hospital under the care of doctors, where he remains, but out of danger to his life.
The ASHD vessel "Joni" with its crew, as well as the officers of the Durrës Port Captain, were involved in the operation.
The man suffers from acute Ventral Hernia.
