Record temperature for the season in Athens, thermometer marks 26 °C

Very high temperatures for the season were recorded today in the Greek capital, Athens. The Hellenic capital recorded temperatures close to 20 degrees Celsius early in the morning, while at noon they went up to 26.

According to the National Observatory of Athens, temperatures of 24 to 26 degrees are historically high for the season as they could surpass previous records.

The March records, as far as the center is concerned, are 25 degrees Ceclius for the Athens-Gazi station, recorded on March 31, 2009, and 26 for the Patisias station on March 14, 2020.

According to the Observatory, generally clear weather is expected today with occasional clouds, while concentrations of Saharan dust in the Greek capital will be increased.
